Originally built between 1902 & 1912, this mid terrace property located in Keynsham near Bristol. Constructed in a traditional brick and stone cavity wall manor with a pantile, tiled roof. The ground floor arrangement consisted of entrance hallway and stairs, lounge, dining room, kitchen, WC and conservatory. At the first floor, three-bedrooms, bathroom and office could be found.
The Client's requirements consisted of a utility, WC / shower and larger family kitchen / dinner.
JMP Architecture working with the Client developed the proposals to replace the existing conservatory with a ground floor rear extension with shallow pitched roof over. This would host the dinning part of the newly arranged kitchen dinner, bi-fold doors across the rear elevation would link the kitchen / dinner to a newly proposed raised patio area overlooking the garden. Roof windows to the extension roof would provide, in conjunction with the bi-fold doors, even more natural light into the kitchen. The extension housing part of the kitchen / dinner facilitated the insertion of a new back door, utility and WC / shower room in part of the original kitchen.
